Even the craziest cat lovers can't stand a litter box, so why not make it as invisible as possible.  Turn any bench, trunk or dresser into a peek-a-boo litter box.

MATERIALS

Hinged top or front piece of furniture.

Scrap plywood

Jigsaw

Wood glue

Nails

STEPS

Cut an opening into the side of your piece of furniture.  For this bench I drilled a hole in the corner so I could get my jigsaw blade in and then just went around and cut out one of the panels.

Next, if your piece is big enough, measure and cut panels from the plywood to fit in the interior.  I used a long bench, so had plenty of room.  I cut an off center door in one panel and attached it using wood glue and nails about 10" behind the exterior opening I cut, but placed the opening on the opposite side.  This will act as a barrier and keep any kitty litter from being kicked out onto the floor.

I then measured to make sure I had enough room for the litter box and then put my second panel behind that mark.  This will serve as a place to keep the scoop and bag of litter.

Now how cute is that.  As far as the smell...well, that I have no control over.
