Charmed Key Rings

These personalized key fobs are great personalized gifts.  I made several for some of my cast members of Home & Family and not only had a fun time pulling together different charms that captured their personalities, but I was happily surprised by how honestly people were touched when they know you made something just for them.  Making them couldn't be easier.  A quick trip to the jewelry section of the craft store is all you need.  Pick up the basic key ring (technically it's called a split ring) and a pack of the little rings that you used to make chains (ok, technically these are called jump rings) and charms, pendants, pieces of jewelry to suit your fancy.  Sometimes I got a little crazy, like in the key fob above, and used a necklace closure to hang the charms from.  (I know, I can just get wacky sometimes!)

With a pair of needle nose pliers just open up the jump ring and add it to the key ring.   Use the pliers to squeeze it closed again.  Add another one, and so on. and so on, until you get the size key ring you want.  Now, just add your charms in the same way to your jump rings in any location you'd like.

To use the necklace closures, just remove the hook or ring that is for closing the necklace.  Now add your key ring instead and use the part where the necklace is to be attached for your charms.

Yea, you can't get any easier.  Here are some of the other ones I made...
