Few things say fall like Indian corn.  Usually it’s relegated to a basket or nestled into a mantle display.  Well,no longer my friend, it’s time for it to stand in it’s full glory on the front door!  This wreath is very easy to make, so pick up a few extra ears at the pumpkin patch and have a go!

STEPS

Get your corn ready.  You’ll want the kernels exposed with the husks all bent back away from the ears.  If yours aren’t, soak the husks in water for an hour or two until they’re pliable.  Bend them back into the desired position and let them dry.  Secure the husks in place temporarily with string or a rubber band if necessary while drying.

Prepare the wreath form by wrapping it in twine or burlap.  Start by securing one end of wrapping material with a bit of hot glue, wrap all the way around (a drop of glue every few wraps keeps things secure) and secure at the other end. Trim off any excess.

Decide on placement of your corn before breaking out the glue.  Once in place you’ll remove a chunk of kernels if you change your mind once the glue has cooled.  Keep in mind spreading out the colors and try to keep the tips all in a neat circle.  Now, simple start attaching the corn using liberal amounts of hot glue.
