Framing Childhood Books

Upon the birth of our first child, a large parcel appeared on our front porch. Not uncommon in those blurry days of midnight feedings and sleepless nights. When I finally got around to opening it, I found it was all of my favorite childhood books. My mother had been holding on to them in the attic all these years. As a family welcome to the newest member of the family, my mother wanted to pass them on. All very lovely. The problem is that my parents live in Savannah, Georgia and needless to say the heat and humidity in the attic had done a job on the books over the decades. They were in no condition to be read by an ancient book scholar, much less a soon to be toddler. So, I took to the local craft store, raided my sewing bin, and gave homage to my childhood books in a very simple way that looks great while keeping the books safe.  MATERIALS- Shadow box frames- Books- Ruler- Display Pins Steps- Open the shadow box frame and position the book in the center. - Secure the book in place using display or push pins and reassemble frame. - Display on the wall in a grid.
