Decoupaged Dresser

If you’ve got an old dresser that’s just lost its oomph or if there’s a good deal on a plain no-frills dresser at Ikea, this is a perfect project to instantly bring some pizzaz to any bedroom.  You can even make it match the bedspread, the drapes, your kids pajamas - the options are endless!

MATERIALS

Fabric

Decoupage medium (like Mod Podge)

Paint brush

Utility knife

Dresser

Pull out drawers and remove hardware.  Cut fabric to be slightly larger than drawers.  Coat drawer surface with a thick coat of decoupage medium.  Lay fabric right side up onto the drawer.  Smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles with your fingers.

Go back over the top of the fabric with another coat of the medium.

If it’s a think weave fabric make sure you get the medium down between the threads.

Let the decoupage medium become about 80% dry.Trim the excess fabric off with the utility knife.  Cut a small hole where the hardware goes and reattach.

Insert into you’re newly fabulous bedroom.
