Carnations!

Here are the steps for the carnation globes and heart wreath that I did this morning on Hallmark Channel's Home & Family show!

Carnation Globes

Materials:

Small floral foam globe

Large floral foam globe

50 white carnations

50 red carnations

Prepare your floral foam globes by soaking them for 15 minutes in water.

This will allow the globes to stay fresh without having to water them.

While they're soaking cut the heads off of your carnation stems leaving about 1 1/2 inches of stem on them.

Remove your globes from the water and begin Inserting your carnations.

Simple push the bottom inch of cut stem into the globe.

To make dispersing the carnations evenly easier, insert them in a straight line around the globe first.

Then do the same thing going in the other direction so you end up with four quadrants.

Then just fill in the quadrants.

Or you could just go willy nilly - it's hard to mess this up!

Leave a space at the bottom with no carnations and rest the globe on your favorite candlestick and you're done!

For the wreath it's pretty much the  same process...

Materials:

Foam heart (if you can't find one in stores, you can carve one out of larger blocks like I did)

75 pink carnations

10 red carnations

Steps:

Soak floral foam in water and cut the heads off of your carnations again.

If you want to hang the wreath, now is a good time to push a piece of bent wire through the foam to make a hanger.

Insert carnations into the foam heart

To get the heart shape in the center, just make a "V" with the red carnations in the center.
